In European football, Luka Modrić, who has many years of experience and a career filled with successes, will test himself at Milan in the new season. Having played nearly thirteen years at Madrid's Real, the internationally recognized experienced midfielder is now preparing to fight for the Italian giant, reports 24sata.
Explaining his decision, Modrić emphasized the following: “I could have chosen an easier path, gone to a league where competition is a bit lower. But that's not for me, because throughout my career I've always preferred difficult and serious challenges. That's why I chose Milan. Here, every player and coach works tirelessly for victory. I spoke with Carlo Ancelotti and heard a lot of good things about the club. He worked here both as a player and as a coach, he gave me complete information about the history and spirit of Milan.”
The midfielder also commented on his role and playing time: “I came here to play more, to be in good physical and psychological shape, and to prepare well for the World Cup in America. I will have a detailed conversation with the coach, I need time to get acquainted with his ideas and the team's philosophy. Training with the team is much more beneficial than preparing alone.”
Modrić stated that not playing in European competitions does not worry him: “Of course, being part of a club that has won the most trophies after Real is a great honor. However, not participating in European competitions this season is, on the one hand, disappointing, but on the other, it allows us to dedicate an entire week to preparation for each match.”
Modrić explained his transfer to Milan as follows: “I spent thirteen years at the world's greatest club. Now, I am continuing my career at a club that was once at Real's level, and is now aiming to return to new heights. My main task here is to support the team as much as I can and enjoy football.”
The midfielder is also very hopeful about working with coach Allegri: “Winning the 2017 Champions League final may not be his most pleasant memory, so I’m not going to talk much about it. I look forward to working with Allegri and gaining new experiences. He is one of the best specialists in the world, and I will do my best to justify his trust.”
Luka Modrić's new challenge and ambitions at Milan are expected to inspire new hope and historic victories for the club’s fans. The midfielder’s career will undoubtedly once again attract great interest to the Italian championship and European football.
