South Korea’s famous football star Son Heung-min has put an end to his London journey. Leaving the Tottenham Hotspur squad for Los Angeles, Son addressed a sincere and emotional farewell letter to fans on social networks.
According to Son Heung-min, in recent days he thought a lot about what words to choose, but it is impossible to fully express these feelings. He recognized that the ten years at Tottenham were one of the most significant stages in his life: “When I arrived in London in 2015, everything was new to me, I didn’t know English, but you – the fans – immediately accepted me as your own, you were always by my side even in difficult moments. I was just a Korean guy with big dreams, and now London has forever remained in my heart.”
During his career, he made friends, became the captain of the team, and even experienced the joy of fatherhood, admitting that he gave all his strength to Tottenham. Therefore, parting with the club was very hard for him.
Son Heung-min especially noted his deep gratitude to the club and fans: “I always thought that if I ever leave, it would be with pride and honor. My debut, the Puskás Award, the Golden Boot — all these left a bright mark in my life. However, the Europa League victory in Bilbao is a lifelong memory. That moment, that victory — will stay with us until the end of our lives.”
In conclusion, the footballer sincerely thanked everyone — club staff, coaches, teammates, and fans. “I hope I was able to make you proud,” Son Heung-min finished his address.
Son’s farewell became one of the most memorable events in Tottenham’s history. Fans are now looking forward to his new achievements at the next stage.
