In the 18th round of the Super League, which aroused great interest among fans, the match between “Dinamo” and “Pakhtakor” ended in a 1:1 draw. After the intense encounter, “Pakhtakor” head coach Kamoliddin Tojiyev attended a press conference and shared his thoughts and comments about the game.
The experienced coach first spoke about his general impressions of the match, saying:
— Today our team started the match very actively and confidently. But unfortunately, in a completely unexpected situation, we conceded a goal. This situation inevitably affected the mood and psychological state of our players. After that, we recovered a little and tried to act to correct the situation. — It is clear that some cannot fully recover physically. That is why we decided to make successive substitutions. With this, we aimed to change the situation in our favor.
The coach also spoke about Aziz Turghunboev, who joined the team during the summer transfer window. According to him, Aziz can play effectively both in the left flank of defense and in midfield:
— Aziz has the strength to go forward and then come back. That’s why for now we are mainly using him on the wing.
The press and fans also asked about the lack of leadership qualities from former legionnaire players such as Turghunboev, Abdikholikov, and Erkinov. Tojiyev pointed to the level of the championship:
— Today, the level of our national championship has significantly increased. In many cases, we are showing games even stronger than the teams of the Arab leagues. All processes take time.
The coach also clearly stated his position on working with youth:
— Yes, I have always worked with young players and will continue to do so. Our team has many talented youngsters. Giving them opportunities, developing them, and bringing them to the national team level is an important task for us. But with an inexperienced squad, it is difficult to achieve big results. Experience in football is also of great importance.
In conclusion, Tojiyev also spoke about the atmosphere at the stadium:
— The atmosphere was at the highest level. Both the fans and the players enjoyed the game. We came here for a win, but a draw is not a bad result.
