Ahead of the CAFA Nations Cup-2025 tournament, the acting head coach of the national team of the Kyrgyz Republic, Urmat Abdukaimov, expressed his opinion about the opponents in the group. According to him, all the opponents in the group are considered quality teams possessing top-level footballers, therefore in each duel maximum discipline and attention are required.

“I am sure that each team will take to the field with the highest motivation to achieve success at the tournament,” the coach emphasized. In his view, the result will be determined by not allowing shortcomings, fighting to the end for each episode, and correctly using the opportunities in reserve.

“Most of the players of the Turkmenistan national team play in the AFC Champions League, which shows their high international experience and competitiveness. Recently, a modern, highly qualified coach Rovshan Amanovich Meredov, whom I personally know, came to the team,” said Abdukaimov.

“Also, ahead of the CAFA Nations Cup-2025 tournament, the Oman national team was taken over by a world-class specialist Carlos Queiroz. He managed the Portugal national team at WC-2010, and the Iran national team at the 2014 and 2018 World Cups, which further strengthens the competition.
Recently, Oman has become a frequently encountered opponent for us and each game was very difficult for us. “Therefore, I think the encounters this time will be interesting,” the coach added. In his opinion, tactical struggle, set pieces and the speed of decisions in the center of the field will bear decisive significance.

“As for the current level of Uzbekistan, everyone knows this well. They obtained a berth for the 2026 World Cup — this is a result that requires a high evaluation by the standards of the region,” said Abdukaimov. For this reason, it is expected that in the group the competition for each point will be even more intense.

Of course, each game will not be easy for us, but precisely this goal pushes us forward,” the specialist concluded.
