The draw for the Champions League group stage, one of the most exciting competitions in European football, has concluded, and Manchester City's opponents have also been determined.
Ugu Viana, the club's sports director, shared his thoughts on the draw results. He emphasized that the matches awaiting the team will be not only exciting but also a serious test:
- There will be many interesting and exciting games. The positive aspect for us is that we were lucky enough to avoid long trips. This is especially important against the backdrop of intense debates in the calendar. There are many matches starting in September, and this will certainly be a serious test," the Portuguese coach said in an interview with City Report.
The Citizens, led by Josep Guardiola, will face strong clubs such as Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Villarreal, Napoli, Boude-Glimt, Galatasaray, and Monaco in the group stage.
As a reminder, last season in the Champions League, Manchester City lost to Real Madrid in the first round of the playoffs.
Therefore, this year's matches are seen as a kind of rematch for the club and an opportunity not to repeat past mistakes. Fans are eagerly awaiting their favorite team's performance on the European stage.
