Football world-renowned coach Jose Mourinho has suggested returning to Portugal and starting his career as Benfica's head coach. According to him, this offer is interesting to him and he openly stated that he would not refuse such an opportunity.
"Before boarding the plane, I was asked if I was interested in driving Benfica. I answered this question without hesitation: "Yes, interesting." The club officially asked if I had any interest. "And I said that I am currently abroad, but when I return, I will definitely be able to talk with pleasure," the coach said.
According to Mourinho, when he received an offer from Benfica, he made the decision without much thought. "In reality, which coach could give up a club like Benfica? Not me. "Accepting this offer is an interesting and valuable opportunity for me," he noted.
At the same time, the specialist noted that he has not reached the end of his career, but has not planned to become unemployed at all. "I recently left my club, four weeks left. Being unemployed until the end of the season is not my style. I always want to work, to be active," Mourinho said.
He stated that he had decided to restrain himself and not immediately agree to any proposal. However, when an offer came from Benfica, he didn't hesitate: "It was interesting for me, and I wanted to," the experienced coach concluded.
