To the journalist's question, "Do you think Argentina's World Cup victory put an end to the rivalry between Ronaldo and Messi?" the footballer responded as follows:
"I think there shouldn't have been a big debate on this issue before. But I'm Argentinian, and naturally, I'll point out Messi's superiority. I deeply respect Cristiano Ronaldo and see him as the world's second-best player. There is no doubt about his football, discipline, and skill level. But for me personally, Lionel Messi is the greatest in history. I believe there will never be a player equal to him," said McAllister.
