Yesterday, the World Championship in amateur MMA (IMMAF) for U-20 and adults started in the Georgian capital Tbilisi. This prestigious event is considered one of the largest MMA meetings of the year and features about twenty national teams from different countries.

Of course, the Uzbekistan national team also demonstrates its skill and potential at this championship. Currently, the second day of contests has intensified, and our compatriot athletes made a bright start with their victories.

In the 57.6 kg weight category, Uzbek fighter Azizbek Safarov fought a full 3-round match against the English opponent Taylor Parkinson in the ring. At the end of the fight, the judges unanimously awarded the victory to our compatriot. Safarov’s technically perfect movements and level of preparation deemed him worthy of advancing to the next stage.

Another compatriot, Nozim Sotvoldiyev, demonstrated his skill and strength even more convincingly. He knocked out his English opponent Danny Batt with a powerful strike in the first round, earning applause from the audience.

These victories at the World Championship taking place in Tbilisi once again proved that our country's young fighters can show their potential and talent on the international stage.
