Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe recently revealed the main source of his inspiration as a footballer. According to the French star, his biggest role model has always been the Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Cristiano Ronaldo has always been an example for me. He stands out not only for his achievements on the pitch but also for his discipline and hard work. Talking to him, receiving advice — it’s a great honor. He has always supported and encouraged me,” said Mbappe.
The French striker also praised Ronaldo’s legacy at Real Madrid:
“Ronaldo is the face of Real Madrid, the club’s greatest symbol. Even though he left long ago, people in Madrid still admire him and continue to speak about him.”
As a reminder, Cristiano Ronaldo played for Real Madrid from 2009 to 2018, becoming the club’s all-time top scorer with 450 goals in 438 appearances. During this period, he won four Ballon d’Or awards.
Currently, the 40-year-old Ronaldo plays for Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr and still performs at a high level. According to Mbappe, he continues to draw inspiration from Ronaldo’s love for hard work and his relentless determination.
“For me, he will always be the best. If you’re a footballer, it’s impossible not to learn something from Cristiano,” Mbappe concluded.
