The 8th round of the English Premier League continued with intense matches. Among the most anticipated games was Manchester City’s win and another brilliant performance from Erling Haaland, the highlight of the round.
After seven rounds, the title race became even tighter. Manchester City hosted Everton at home and secured a 2–0 victory thanks to Haaland’s brace. With this result, the Citizens climbed to the top of the table with 16 points.
The Norwegian striker increased his season tally to 11 goals, once again leading the scoring charts. Both goals came in the second half — in the 58th and 63rd minutes.

Everton defended with discipline but could not contain Haaland’s speed and precise positioning. Following the defeat, the Merseyside club dropped to 10th place in the standings.
Elsewhere, the London derby between Crystal Palace and Bournemouth ended in a thrilling 3–3 draw. Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta was the hero of the match, scoring a hat-trick and rescuing a point for his side.
