Serbian coach: "Kannavaro will bring a new spirit to the national team"

Serbian specialist, former head coach of the "Kyzylkum" club Nikola Lazarevich, shared his thoughts on the Uzbekistan Championship and the national team. According to him, the Super League has been developing significantly in recent years, and the fight for the championship this year has become very exciting, as reported by Championat.asia.

First of all, Lazarevich spoke about his career:

"After leaving Kyzylkum, I rested for several weeks and then decided to improve my knowledge. Currently, I am doing an internship in Spain. Spanish football has always been interesting to me, and I especially wanted to study the working style of specialists like José Mendilibar and Ernesto Valverde. By the end of the year, I also intend to undergo training with a renowned coach who works with the South American national team."

The coach also commented on the Uzbekistan Championship:

"I follow the Super League, not always, but when the opportunity arises, I watch many games on YouTube. First of all, I am glad that "Kyzylkum" is showing good results - they have the right to maintain their place in the Super League. This year, some teams achieved unexpected results. For example, OKMK did not expect such a low result, but I am sure that they are a team that is working systematically and will soon rise to higher positions. "Navbahor" also showed surprise in some situations. The team that pleased me the most was "Sogdiana." They have the quality of the game, only the results didn't match it."

Speaking about the fight for the championship, Lazarevich highlighted the two teams:

"Currently, two teams are leading - "Nasaf" and "Neftchi." I think these two clubs will fight for the championship until the end of the season. "Neftchi" has gathered a lot of new players, and it's not easy to immediately perform well in such conditions. "Nasaf," on the other hand, has a stable system and a long-standing squad. Therefore, in my personal opinion, Nasaf is the main contender for the championship this year. But the intrigue lasts until the end."

Lazarevich also commented on Fabio Cannavaro, who has been appointed head coach of the Uzbekistan national team:

"I followed the news about the appointment of Cannavaro. It would have been good if Kapadze had stayed - he achieved great results with the national team. But the arrival of a star like Cannavaro should also be perceived positively. It's unnecessary to talk about his qualities as a player, but he can also bring a new spirit, a new culture to the team as a coach. Of course, his experience is not extensive and there are some doubts about the results, but this does not mean that he will fail. The most important thing is to set specific tasks and realistic goals for it."

At the end of the conversation, the Serbian specialist also expressed positive opinions about Uzbek football:

"Uzbek football is growing every year. The infrastructure is improving, the quality of the game is improving, and young coaches are striving to acquire new knowledge. It is pleasant for me to observe this process. If such a pace of development is maintained, Uzbekistan can achieve great success on the Asian scale in the coming years," said Nikola Lazarevich.

The coach's comments were met with enthusiasm by the fans - his comments once again confirmed how tough the Super League's struggles this year will be and how uncertain the results will be.
