Strepetov: There are no bright strikers in the Russia national team
Former Saint Petersburg "Zenit" footballer Aleksey Strepetov commented on Aleksandr Sobolev's call-up to the Russia national team. The team will play two BetBoom friendlies in November against the national teams of Chile and Peru.

"There are generally no outstanding strikers in the national team. They can't score goals, and recently we've only been praising Vorobyov.

Sobolev in no way lags behind Sergeyev, Musayev, and Vorobyov," reports "Sovetskiy Sport" citing Strepetov. The 28-year-old "blue-white-blues" striker Sobolev has played 14 matches for the Russia national team and scored 6 goals.

He last played for the national team in November 2023. In the current national championship, Sobolev has scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist in 11 matches.
