The Uzbekistan national team entered the semifinals of the III Asian Youth Games, which are taking place in Bahrain. This time, our young futsal players, led by Dilshod Rahmatov, were tested against the youth of Iran.
From the very first minutes of the match, the opponents took the initiative and launched frequent attacks. The Persians were distinguished by a high level of preparation and team play. Despite the fact that our guys used all their strength, it was not easy to stop a strong opponent.
The match ended with a resounding 14-2 victory for the Iranian national team. The Uzbek guys tried their best to win, but the opponent's high technique and experience became the decisive factor.
Thus, the Uzbekistan youth national team lost the opportunity to reach the final of the competition. They will now compete for the bronze medal on October 30th. The opponent's name is expected to be announced soon.
It should be noted that this tournament in Bahrain is important not only for medals, but also for future international starts. Teams that win prizes at the Asian Youth Games will qualify for the IV Summer Youth Olympic Games, which will be held in 2026 in the capital of Senegal, Dakar.
Therefore, this match will be our national team's last chance to save their chance to enter the world stage. Our young futsal players are expected to compete for the bronze medal with enthusiasm and confidence in victory.
For Dilshod Rakhmatov's students, this competition became a great school of experience. They learned valuable lessons in competitions against continental teams with a high level of competition, and this experience will be of great importance in future major competitions.
