
Futsal competitions at the III Asian Youth Games in Bahrain have concluded. In the decisive match for third place, the Uzbekistan youth national team played against Thailand and lost to a strong opponent.
Despite the fact that Dilshod Rakhmatov's pupils played with all their might, the experience of the opposing team prevailed. The match took place in the city of Isa Town, Bahrain, and the young Thai futsal players won with a score of 2:6.
Javokhir Abdulvosiyev (18th minute) and Nizomiddin Ziyohiddinov (25th minute) scored for Uzbekistan. However, it was not possible to save this account. From Thailand, Wangsilpakhun Punno scored four times (16, 18, 25, 39), Puvipadavat Tanavat (20) and Sriraksa Ratavit (40).
Thus, the Uzbekistan junior national team finished the competition without a medal and took fourth place in the overall standings. This result was a test experience for the team, as they faced major opponents - teams like Iran and Afghanistan.
Recall that in the group stage, Uzbekistan lost to Afghanistan with a score of 2:10, drew with China with a score of 2:2, and defeated Bahrain with a large score of 13:0. In the semi-final, he lost to Iran with a score of 2:14.
In the final, the youth teams of Iran and Afghanistan will compete for the championship. Although Iran was seen as the favorite at the end of the tournament, Afghanistan's consistent performance in this tournament also generated considerable interest.
For the Uzbekistan youth national team, this competition provided an opportunity to gain international experience and test a new generation of futsal players. According to experts, the team will have the opportunity to improve its performance in the coming years and compete in international competitions with a more competitive squad.
