
The Uzbekistan U-17 national team started the tournament with a victory at the World Junior Championships in Qatar. Our youth team, led by Islam Ismailov, competed against the youth team of Paraguay in Group J and won with a score of 2:1.
At the beginning of the match, the opponents started to act actively, but our compatriots soon took control of the game. Azizbek Abdumo'minov opened the scoring in the 25th minute, effectively completing a high-precision pass from Abubakir Shukurullayev. This goal provided a psychological advantage for the team.
At the last moment of the first half, the same player showed his skill and vigilance - after a beautiful pass from Mukhammadali Musakhanov, he scored the second goal, making the score 2:0. This goal became an important turning point for the Uzbekistan team.
In the second half, the Paraguayan players attempted to reduce the deficit. They launched several dangerous attacks, but goalkeeper Nematullah Rustamjonov saved the team with his confident play. Only in the 89th minute did Ledesma manage to reduce the deficit with a penalty.

The Uzbekistan national team played disciplinarily on all lines. Mo'minxon Bahodirxonov and Muhammad Hakimov's confident play in defense, and Sayfiddin Sodiqov and Sadriddin Hasanov's activity in midfield, gave the team an advantage.
Islam Ismailov's team won their first match at the World Cup, filling our fans with joy. They will now face an important match against the Irish youth team on November 8th.
