According to former Dutch striker Ruud Gullit, his compatriot Joshua Zirkzee made a mistake by leaving the Italian league to join the English Premier League. Zirkzee performed successfully at Bologna, but the same cannot be said about Manchester United — his current team.
"In my opinion, Zirkzee should have stayed in Italy. He was playing well at Bologna, and I would have liked to see him at AC Milan.
Joining Manchester United was a mistake," Gullit is quoted as saying by pianetamilan.it. It is worth noting that Gullit himself played in Italy for teams like AC Milan and Sampdoria from Genoa during his career.
