Montella Hopes for Turkey to Reach the Final

Turkey's national football team head coach Vincenzo Montella shared his thoughts following the draw for the World Cup play-off matches. His team will face Romania in the semi-finals, and the winner of this matchup will encounter either Kosovo or Slovakia in the next round.

Montella did not specifically state his preference for facing either Slovakia or Kosovo in the final. "We performed very well during the group stage and achieved good results.

Now, our full focus is on the play-offs, and we want to reach the final," he said. "The Slovakian coach is an Italian specialist, and I know him well.

He is an excellent coach, and Slovakia's team is very strong. They usually have confidence in themselves and demonstrate solid teamwork.

I can't say which opponent I would prefer, but I certainly want Turkey to be in the final," Montella added. The semi-final matches are scheduled for March 26, while the final will take place on March 31, 2026.
