Ernesto Valverde, the head coach of Athletic Bilbao, shared his thoughts on whether Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal could become a better footballer than Lionel Messi. "I don’t know.
Only time can answer this question. Lamine has immense potential.
Messi was the best footballer in the world for many years, proving it in every match. Lamine, however, is just beginning his journey.
He is very young and has a great future ahead of him," Valverde said in an interview with "Barça Universal." Messi, a product of Barcelona's youth system, was part of the club from 2000 to 2021.
Lamine Yamal is also a graduate of the "La Masia" academy. This season, the 16-year-old winger has played in 11 matches across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing six assists.
