Xabi Alonso's Decision to Bench Vinicius

The head coach of Madrid's "Real," Xabi Alonso, explained his decision not to start Vinicius Junior in the match against "Elche" (2-2). The Brazilian forward entered the field only in the 57th minute, replacing his compatriot Rodrigo.

"We discussed everything before the game. Vinicius understands his role and knows that he can contribute to the team even when coming off the bench.

He is an important player for the team," Alonso said in an interview with The Touchline. The goals for the "Royal Club" were scored by Din Hoesen and Jude Bellingham in the 78th and 87th minutes, respectively.
