The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has made a decision regarding Portuguese national team forward Cristiano Ronaldo. The forward received a red card in his most recent match against Ireland after elbowing an opponent.
According to media reports, FIFA handed Ronaldo a one-match actual suspension and a conditional suspension for two additional matches. It has been confirmed that Cristiano has already served the one-match suspension and did not participate in the final qualifying match against Armenia.
As a result, the captain of the Portuguese national team is now eligible to participate in the first match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is set to begin next summer. The draw for the final stages of the World Cup will take place this December.
