Lautaro Martinez Ranks Second in Champions League History


The fifth-round matches of the UEFA Champions League group stage have taken place in European football. Inter Milan traveled to Madrid and suffered a 1-2 defeat against the local team, Atlético Madrid.

This match marked the 62nd Champions League appearance for Inter's captain, Argentine striker Lautaro Martínez. With this milestone, he has equaled Esteban Cambiasso’s record, as Cambiasso also played 62 matches in the Champions League for Inter.

Now, only one Argentine player, Javier Zanetti, surpasses him. Zanetti represented Inter in 97 Champions League matches.

It should be recalled that Lautaro Martínez has been playing for the Milan-based club since 2018.
