Former AC Milan striker Antonio Cassano has expressed sharp criticism regarding the team's current style of play and the performance of coach Massimiliano Allegri. According to Cassano, the current footballing approach of the "Rossoneri" is neither in line with the club's stature nor its historical traditions.
He compared Allegri with José Mourinho, pointing out that both coaches have seemingly lost their relevance over time. "I once said that Mourinho would lose his status and get relegated to a secondary level.
I am convinced the same will happen with Allegri. It's hard to believe that in 2025, AC Milan is playing such basic football.
This club is synonymous with beauty, style, and skill. But now?
The team sits deep in their own half, creates no depth, and then only counters to score goals," Cassano told Milan News. Currently, Milan leads the Serie A table with 28 points this season.
