
French media representatives have highlighted positive improvements in the performance of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) goalkeeper Matvey Safonov. In an article published by RMC Sport, it was noted that the Russian goalkeeper has been providing worthy competition to Lucas Chevalier.
According to the publication, the coaching staff sees Safonov's position within the team as increasingly solidified. His on-field performance has been evaluated as a reflection of his daily self-discipline and commitment to high standards.
The article also emphasized that the competition among PSG goalkeepers remains healthy, while the atmosphere in the dressing room is reported to be positive. It is noteworthy that Safonov has been included in the starting lineup for three consecutive matches.
In the most recent game against Metz, he conceded two goals. At the beginning of the 2025/2026 season, however, he did not make any appearances on the pitch.
