Former midfielder Igor Semshov, who played for Moscow's “Dynamo” and “Zenit” clubs, commented on the voting results for the 2025 FIFA Best Player of the Year award. According to FIFA, the honor of the Best Player of the Year went to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forward Ousmane Dembélé.
“If coaches and captains have chosen Dembélé as the best, then so be it. He won everything possible with PSG, but in my opinion, Raphinha also deserved the award,” Semshov said during a broadcast on “Match TV.”
He noted that the final result was influenced by the fact that the French club won significantly more trophies in the 2024/2025 season compared to Barcelona. Additionally, PSG's head coach Luis Enrique was named Coach of the Year.
PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma also claimed the Best Goalkeeper award. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
