IFFHS Names Donnarumma Goalkeeper of the Year


The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has announced its ranking of the world's best goalkeepers for the year 2025. Each year, the organization evaluates football players' performances and determines the best across various categories.

According to IFFHS, the title of the best goalkeeper of the year was awarded to Gianluigi Donnarumma. During the summer transfer window, he moved from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to Manchester City.

The Italian goalkeeper amassed 169 points. The second spot was secured by Real Madrid's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois with 65 points.

The top three was rounded out by Yann Sommer of Inter Milan with 59 points. The subsequent positions were taken by Manuel Neuer (50), David Raya (40), Alisson Becker (24), Emiliano Martinez (20), Robert Sanchez (15), Jordan Pickford (14), and Yassine Bounou (13).

For reference, last year, IFFHS recognized Emiliano Martinez as the world's best goalkeeper.
