
In the 17th round of the English Premier League, Everton hosted Arsenal at home. During the match, the hosts struggled to create chances in attack, while the London side controlled the game but managed to convert only one of their numerous opportunities into a goal.
The score was opened in the 27th minute when Viktor Gyökeres delivered a powerful strike from the penalty spot, giving Arsenal the lead. In the second half, the visitors came close several times to increasing their advantage.
After a pass from Jurriën Timber, Bukayo Saka’s low shot was blocked by James Tarkowski on the goal line. Following a pass from Declan Rice, Leandro Trossard attempted a one-touch strike into the far corner, but the ball hit the post.
Later, Martin Ødegaard made a backward pass from the edge of the penalty area, and Martín Zubimendi’s low strike from about 15 meters also hit the post, sparing Everton. The match ended with a 0-1 scoreline.
