Oleg Teryokhin: Safonov May Remain on the Bench Again

Former “Dinamo” player Oleg Teryokhin shared his thoughts on the prospects of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov at “PSG.” It should be recalled that earlier, “PSG” won the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, relying on four penalty saves by Safonov.

However, during the same penalty shootout, the Russian goalkeeper sustained a hand fracture and was sidelined for a month. According to Teryokhin, if Safonov had not been injured, he could have firmly secured a spot in “PSG’s” starting lineup.

“Now, for the next month, it is clear that Chevalier will play. Unfortunately, after that, there is a possibility that Matvey will return to the bench,” Teryokhin’s remarks were quoted by “RB Sport.”

“PSG” will play its next match on January 4. In Round 17 of Ligue 1, Luis Enrique's team will face “Paris.”
