Simeone says Atletico must fight 110 percent for the title

Simeone: 'Atlético' needs 110 percent fight for the championship

Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone shared his detailed thoughts on the team’s current state and goals following a convincing 3-0 away victory against Girona.

The Argentine coach emphasized that the team continues to make progress even in away matches, which is showing productive results. The team's defensive stability and attacking efficiency have seen notable improvement.

"We aim to achieve positive results in every match. Right now, the team is moving forward, and this is clearly reflected in the way we play," Simeone said.

He also highlighted the importance of forward Alexander Sørloth to the team. According to the coach, the Norwegian striker has been feeling much freer in recent matches and is opening new opportunities for the team.

"Sørloth is a crucial figure for us. He doesn't limit himself to just scoring goals; he runs a lot and breaks through defenses. He is a player different from Griezmann or Raspadori, and he is adding a new dimension to our team," added Simeone.

Simeone also reflected on last season. He noted that while the team performed admirably in the UEFA Champions League, it lacked consistency in La Liga.

"Every time I see Real Madrid and Barcelona, I realize that we need even more determination. In some situations, giving 100 percent isn’t enough. We must exert 110 percent effort to compete equally with our rivals," stated the "Colchoneros" coach.

For context, following this victory, Atlético Madrid now has 37 points and sits in third place in the La Liga standings.
