Kanchelskis: Safonov Reminds of Russian Footballers in Europe

Former Manchester United footballer Andrei Kanchelskis commented on PSG goalkeeper Matvei Safonov's outstanding performance in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final. In the decisive match of the tournament, PSG defeated Brazil's Flamengo.

Safonov made four saves during the post-match penalty shootout. “Safonov has already done a lot for Russian players to be remembered in Europe again.

Safonov has been playing for PSG since the summer of 2024. This season, he has appeared in four matches, keeping clean sheets in two of them.
