Bunyodkor add Italian specialist to goalkeepers coaching staff

Tashkent’s Bunyodkor have strengthened their coaching staff with another key appointment ahead of the new season. According to the club’s press service, the “Swallows” have officially signed a contract with an Italian goalkeeping coach.
The club said the new specialist began work while the team are holding a training camp in Antalya, Turkey. The move signals Bunyodkor’s serious approach to the 2026 season — with stronger competition and more discipline expected in the goalkeeping department.
According to the club, Marco Nicodemo holds a UEFA Goalkeeper Coach “B” licence. He will work at Bunyodkor throughout the 2026 season, focusing on thorough preparation of the team’s goalkeepers both for the season as a whole and for individual matches.
This news is especially intriguing for fans: a European school of coaching, new training methods, psychological preparation and even the fine details of reading the game — the things that may look “small” for goalkeepers often turn into big results. In short, Bunyodkor have upgraded their last line — now we wait to see it on the pitch.
For reference, Ilyos Zeytullayev’s side collected 49 points in the recently finished Superliga season and finished 5th. Ahead of the new campaign, it’s clear the team aim to move higher — both in squad structure and in the quality of preparation.
