Karshi’s Nasaf have stepped up their activity in the transfer market ahead of the new season. The “Dragons” have this time reached an agreement with experienced defender Akram Komilov and officially announced the deal.
According to the club, the 29-year-old is expected to bolster Nasaf’s back line, increase competition and add stability to the team. Komilov is among the seasoned players in the Uzbekistan league: during his career he has played for Bunyodkor, Pakhtakor and OKMK gaining extensive experience.
For the record, Akram will take the field for his new team wearing number 4 . The number is symbolic for defenders: big responsibility and “heavy-duty” work—stopping opposing forwards, holding position, and protecting the team from the back.
In short, Nasaf have added another reliable piece to their defense. Now the most intriguing question for fans is how quickly Komilov will feel “at home” in Karshi and how well he fits the Dragons’ plans for the new season.
