De Zerbi Responds to Media Criticism on Passport Issue

De Zerbi responds to media criticism on passport issue

"Marseille" head coach Roberto De Zerbi shared his thoughts on the criticism from the media. On January 24, his team ended "Lens'" 10-game unbeaten streak with a 3-1 victory. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.

The coach described "Marseille" as a unique city and expressed his fondness for it. He noted that criticism is natural: some journalists write conscientiously, while others do not. According to De Zerbi, for some, his passport changes their attitude: if he had a French passport, things would be different.

De Zerbi also spoke about the club's internal rules. He reminded that there are those who consider themselves in charge, but emphasized that for him, there is only one leader, and he is not the "boss." The coach added that just as the press has the right to write what they want, he has the right to respond as he wishes.

De Zerbi highlighted his team's attacking efficiency: he mentioned that since the 1970/71 season, "Marseille" has not scored as many goals as they have this season. For the coach, the criterion is simple: if the team is scoring, it means they are playing well.

"Marseille's" victory thwarted "Lens'" chance to take the lead in the tournament standings. Currently, "PSG" is in first place with 45 points, followed by "Lens" with 43 points, and "Marseille" has accumulated 38 points.
