In the 1/8 finals of the FA Cup, Manchester City secured a convincing 3-1 victory away against Newcastle. The hosts started the match actively, and in the 18th minute, Barnes opened the scoring, instantly rousing St. James' Park. However, this goal didn't stop the Citizens - on the contrary, City turned the game in their favor in the following minutes.
Towards the end of the first half, in the 39th minute, Savinio equalized on the scoreboard - 1:1. After the break, City intensified the pressure: in the 47th minute, Marmuche scored, putting his team ahead. Even when the fate of the match was almost decided, the visitors didn't stop - in the 65th minute, Marmush scored another goal, scoring a brace and bringing the score to 1:3.
In this match, Uzbekistan national team defender Abdukodir Khusanov played in the main squad and played the full 90 minutes. Most importantly, he stayed on the pitch until the end in a high-pressure away game, helping his team reach the quarterfinals. Playing full-fledged in such matches is a great assessment, both for the defender and for the coaching staff.
Thus, Manchester City advanced to the next round of the FA Cup - the quarterfinals. Newcastle couldn't maintain the lead after the first goal and gave the game's rhythm to the visitors.
