Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez has expressed sharp criticism regarding the tight schedule of matches in the modern football calendar. According to the Uruguayan footballer, players are under immense physical and mental pressure in the current conditions.
"It's like a real meat grinder. We need time to rest because players are putting their health at risk. Our current situation is like circus clowns; we are forced to take the field whenever we are ordered to," Gimenez emphasized in an interview with "Marca".
