Eldor Shomurodov spoke about the difficulties he experienced

Eldor Shomurodov, forward of the Uzbekistan national team and Istanbul Bashakshehir, spoke openly about one of the most important and difficult stages of his career - the period at Roma - in a lengthy interview with Kun.uz's YouTube channel. The footballer assessed the transfer to this club not just as a difficult moment, but as a huge experience that changed him both on the field and in life.

According to Eldor, it was during his time at Roma that he taught him a great lesson not only as a footballer but also as a person. Rather than calling this period a "hardship," he sees it as a "big lesson" - because at that time he had revised himself and his way of thinking.

Shomurodov also spoke about the European dream. He emphasized that his biggest goal was to play in Europe, and this dream came true with his arrival at Genoa. Things went well there: he proved himself even after coming off the bench, was useful in his games, and in the process, Roma bought him.

But when he moved to Roma, his thoughts were dominated by the desire to become a big club, a big stage, a big player. Initially, everything started well: Edin Džeko was hired as the main striker, and Eldor as his assistant. But before he could even adapt to the team, Jeko left. Shomurodov himself said that at that time he felt the responsibility of "being alone," because the new striker had not yet been brought in. Goals in friendly matches have also boosted confidence.

However, the situation changed: the club acquired Tammy Abraham, and Eldor ended up on the bench. It was here that his inner struggle began. He consoled himself with the thought, "I'm a good player, the coach just isn't giving me the opportunity." There were also excuses like "you can't show off by playing for 10 minutes."

According to Shomurodov, almost a year and a half has passed in such a state of mind. And then he realized a painful, but clear truth: if a person stops working on themselves, growth also stops. Even regression begins. For this reason, he sees the "Roma" era as a time of restructuring himself, correcting his discipline, and mentally maturing.

Eldor's conclusion is this: "Roma" gave him a lot of experience - he changed there not only as a player, but also as a person.

In short, the talk about "Roma" in this interview is not just a simple football memory: it's a real lesson about finding yourself on the big stage, admitting mistakes, and processing them.
