"Barcelona" regretted missing Luis Diaz

Spanish champions "Barcelona" are reportedly looking back with regret at a transfer that never happened last summer. According to The Touchline, people at the Catalan club believe their attack could have become the best in world football if they had managed to sign Luis Diaz.

Diaz was said to be one of the main attacking targets for sporting director Deco, who saw the Colombian winger as an ideal option to add more speed, creativity and finishing power to the front line. However, "Barcelona" were unable to complete the move because of their ongoing financial problems.

Instead of joining the Spanish side, Diaz left "Liverpool" at the end of July last year and moved to Bundesliga champions "Bavaria". Media reports at the time said the deal was worth around 70 million euros.

The forward has been outstanding this season, showing why he was in such high demand. In 36 matches, Diaz has scored 20 goals and provided 17 assists, numbers that have only strengthened the feeling inside "Barcelona" that they missed a major chance to improve their squad.
