Liverpool manager acknowledges Brighton deserves the victory

"Liverpool" head coach Arne Slot said the absence of key attacking players hurt his side in the 2-1 defeat to "Brighton" in the 31st round of the Premier League. Speaking after the match, he described the first half as balanced but admitted his team lost control after the break.

Slot said missing two central forwards was a major setback for "Liverpool". He noted that Isak was not available, while Ekitike was lost in the opening minutes, which limited the team’s options in attack. Even so, he believed his players performed well before halftime and managed to stay competitive in an even contest.

According to Slot, the second half told a different story. He said "Brighton" were clearly the stronger side after the interval and deserved credit for their performance. The "Liverpool" manager also acknowledged that his team has dropped too many points after European matches, an issue he said he has tried to explain several times before.

Still, Slot chose not to focus only on his team’s problems and instead praised "Brighton" for the way they played. His comments to TNT Sports reflected both frustration over the result and recognition that the home side made the greater impact when it mattered most.
