MLS club Orlando City has officially announced the transfer of Antoine Griezmann, the 2018 World Cup winner and Atletico Madrid forward, as part of the French national team. This was reported by the club's press service.
"Antuan's arrival at Orlando City is an important and historic moment not only for our club but also for our state, our fans, and the entire MLS," said club owner and board chairman Mark Wilfe in an interview.
The contract with the player will enter into force in July 2026 and will be valid until the end of the 2027/2028 season with the possibility of a one-year extension for the main period.
This transfer is of strategic importance for the club and is expected to create significant opportunities in the team's attacking line. Additionally, Griezmann's arrival will serve to enhance MLS' international prestige and further popularize football in the US.
