"Tottenham" have made contact with former "Brighton" and "Marseille" coach Roberto De Zerbi as the club searches for a new manager following Igor Tudor’s departure, according to journalist Ben Jacobs. The Italian coach was reportedly asked whether he would be ready to take charge of the London side.
However, De Zerbi is said to prefer waiting until the summer before making a decision on his next job. The report adds that he remains interested in working in the Premier League, which could keep "Tottenham" in the picture if the club decides to continue talks later in the year.
Ben Jacobs also reported that "Tottenham" are considering several other candidates. The list includes Sean Dyche, Adi Hutter, Robbie Keane of "Ferencvaros", former "Brentford" coach Chris Hughton, and Harry Redknapp. One idea being discussed by the club’s leadership is to bring in someone with strong ties to "Tottenham" as part of the coaching staff, even if that person is not appointed as head coach.
For now, the pressure remains high at "Tottenham". The team currently sits 17th in the Premier League table with 30 points, leaving little room for error as the club tries to stabilize its season and make the right choice on the bench.
