Gennady Mashyanov, the coach of Dmitry Bivol, the world champion in the light heavyweight category, spoke about his student's future plans and potential opponents. According to him, the champion still has important and serious tests ahead.
According to Mashyanov, a third fight with Artur Beterbiev is on the agenda. However, the coach emphasized that other opponents should not be left out of consideration for now.
"Of course, a third fight with Beterbiev is on the agenda. But at the same time, we should not leave other opponents in the "background". God willing, we will consider the next options. There are not many of them - Artur Beterbiev and David Benavides," the coach said.
It is worth noting that the previous two fights between Bivol and Beterbiev were very intense and evenly contested. Both matches lasted a full 12 rounds, and the boxers won once, leveling the score. Therefore, it is not without reason that the possible third fight is expected to be a real mega-fight.
For information, on May 30 in Yekaterinburg, Dmitry Bivol will take to the ring against German athlete Michael Eifert. In this fight, he will defend his WBA, IBF and WBO light heavyweight belts.
