In the 30th round of the Spanish La Liga, “Barcelona” secured an important 2:1 away victory over “Atlético”. After the match, the head coach of the Catalan side, Hans-Dieter Flick, shared his thoughts about the game.
According to the coach, the team managed to take control of the match during the game and, most importantly, earned the necessary three points. “We took the initiative into our own hands on the field and as a result achieved victory. This was very important,” he said.
Flick especially focused on the young talent Yamal. According to him, the player tried to fully show himself on the field, but luck was not on his side. “Yamal got a bit angry because he wanted to score a goal or make a decisive assist. It didn’t happen, but this is normal in football,” the coach explained.
At the same time, it was noted that several dangerous situations and chances were created during the match, and the game was played at a high tempo and full of emotions. Flick also commented on the controversial situation involving Gerard Martin, saying that he had not reviewed the replay, but in the live moment he saw that the player touched the ball first. In his opinion, this episode does not deserve a red card.
The coach also provided information about the condition of Araujo and Bernal. He expressed hope that their injuries are not serious and said that a final conclusion will be known later.
