Former striker Troy Deeney has expressed his doubts about whether Barcelona can win the UEFA Champions League with their current playing style.
In his opinion, the team led by Hansi-Dieter Flick takes too many risks in defense and gives opponents too many opportunities. This could be costly at the highest level of competition.
“They will never be able to win the Champions League under Flick. Their style of play forces them to take too much risk in defense and gives opponents too many chances.
At this level, you cannot afford to make so many mistakes. With such a game, it is impossible to win the Champions League,” Troy Deeney said.
It should be noted that Barcelona were eliminated in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals by Atlético Madrid with a 2–3 aggregate score and exited the tournament.
