Estevao ruled out of 2026 World Cup due to injury

Chelsea and Brazil national team forward Estêvão Willian is highly likely to miss the upcoming World Cup. This situation is linked to a severe injury he sustained during the Premier League Matchweek 33 fixture against Manchester United (0-1).

According to the medical diagnosis, the player suffered a grade four hamstring tear. Based on reporting from The Athletic, his recovery process could take anywhere from three to six months.

This places a serious question mark over his participation in the World Cup, as this type of injury requires an extensive period of rehabilitation.

In his debut Premier League season for Chelsea, Estêvão made 36 appearances, scoring 8 goals and providing 4 assists. He joined the London club from Palmeiras in the summer of 2025 for a fee of 29 million euros.

He made his debut for the Brazil national team in September 2024 at just 17 years old. Since then, he has appeared in 11 matches for the national side, scoring 5 goals.

In short, this injury could represent a significant setback in the young star’s career. All attention is now focused on his swift and full recovery.
