Uzbek judokas shine in Berlin: leading the team standings

Uzbekistan’s youth judo team has taken a commanding lead at the Berlin Millennium Team Cadet European Cup 2026, securing eight medals on the opening day of the competition. Charos Hikmatova and Abubakr Sattorov claimed gold medals, while their teammates added two silvers and four bronzes to the country's impressive tally. This dominant performance has placed Uzbekistan at the top of the overall team rankings among participants from 35 nations. The team's early success underscores the high level of preparation and competitive strength of Uzbekistan's next generation of judokas.
The prestigious international cadet judo tournament being held in Germany's capital Berlin started with high results for Uzbekistan's national team from the very first day. At the "Berlin Millennium Team Cadet European Cup 2026", featuring athletes from 35 countries around the world, our compatriots are once again demonstrating their potential.
On the first day of the competition, 8 of the 10 Uzbek judokas who took to the tatami successfully completed their medal fight and climbed onto the podium. This result clearly demonstrated the team's preparation and high level.
The gold medal winners were Charos Hikmatova (-48 kg) and Abubakr Sattorov (-60 kg), who left no chance for opponents in their weight classes. In all bouts they acted confidently and dominantly, claiming the championship titles.
The silver medals went to Mamurjon Abduvahobov (-50 kg) and Davlatbek Ahrorov (-60 kg). They reached the finals and put on a worthy fight.
Bronze medals were also added to our team's tally. Iroda Sirojiddinova (-40 kg), Dilafruz Boltaboeva (-44 kg), Bobur Yusupov (-55 kg) and Akromjon Karimov (-66 kg) took third places and reinforced the team result.
Most notably, by the end of the first day of competition the representatives of the Uzbekistan Judo Federation lead the team standings. This indicates the team's readiness for top-level competition.
In short, Uzbekistan's young judokas are creating a real sensation on the Berlin tatami. If this pace is maintained, the likelihood of winning even more medals by the end of the competition is very high.
