Renowned MMA fighter Arman Tsarukyan has shared his views on the next big clash — the fight between Justin Gaethje and reigning champion Ilia Topuria.
In his opinion, no matter the circumstances, cancelling this confrontation is virtually impossible. Tsarukyan especially highlighted Gaethje's character and his attitude towards fights.
"Justin very rarely refuses a fight. Whatever condition he is in — even with an injury — he steps into the octagon. He takes what is his and wants to end his career with dignity," said Arman Tsarukyan.
He also pointed out the general trend in MMA — that many fighters at the closing stages of their careers seek to participate in fights with big paychecks. That is why the Gaethje — Topuria bout is very important both financially and from a sporting standpoint.
"At the end of their careers, all MMA fighters want big money. That is why I do not believe the Gaethje and Topuria confrontation will be cancelled", Arman said in an interview with Adam Zubayraev.
It is worth noting that at the moment Arman Tsarukyan has 23 wins (15 of them inside the distance) and 3 losses in professional MMA.
In short, the upcoming fight is of great importance not only from a sports point of view, but also in terms of show and finance. Therefore, as Tsarukyan said, cancelling this confrontation looks almost impossible.
