Borussia Dortmund parts ways with sporting director Sebastian Kehl

Borussia Dortmund has mutually terminated the contract of long-time sporting director Sebastian Kehl. The 46-year-old specialist served the club for 24 years as both a player and a member of the management. This decision comes as the team begins a period of structural changes. According to the agreement between the club management and Kehl, both parties have resolved financial matters. As reported by Bild, the club legend will receive a severance package of approximately 1.5 million euros. Ole Book has replaced Sebastian Kehl.
This change is a significant loss for head coach Niko Kovac, as Kehl was his main pillar at the club. Now, Niko Kovac will have to prepare the team for the next season in cooperation with the new sporting director.
Sebastian Kehl will bid farewell to the fans during Borussia Dortmund's final home match of the season this Friday. According to German media reports, the experienced official may join Tottenham during the summer transfer window.
