Surprise appointment at Bayern youth team

According to Sky, Babak Keyhanfar will become the assistant to Dante, the new head coach of the Bayern youth team. The 41-year-old specialist has extensive experience as an assistant coach, having previously worked at Mainz 05 and Union Berlin. He is on the verge of signing a contract with Bayern until 2028. This is reported by Goal.com .

Keyhanfar began his coaching career while still a player. He previously worked at FC Liefering, the reserve team of Red Bull Salzburg, as well as at Mainz and Union Berlin under Bo Svensson. The experienced coach has even collaborated closely with Jürgen Klopp.

Brazilian Dante will take charge of the Bayern U23 team in the summer, thus beginning his coaching career. The 42-year-old defender is currently still playing for Ligue 1 side OGC Nice. Between 2012 and 2015, Dante made 133 appearances for Bayern, winning the Bundesliga three times, the DFB-Pokal three times, and the Champions League once.

Dante will replace Holger Seitz, who has been managing the team since 2020. Seitz led the team to the Regionalliga title in the 2018/19 season. He will now continue his career in a different role within the club structure.
