Negotiations regarding a contract extension for Bayern midfielder Konrad Laimer have hit a serious roadblock. Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl admitted that the financial expectations of both parties do not align and that the negotiation process is currently on hold. The Austrian player is considered a key part of the team, but his salary demands are not satisfying the club's management. According to reports, Laimer wants to increase his annual salary to 15 million euros, while Bayern is not prepared for such high expenses.
The club's honorary president Uli Hoeneß reacted sharply to the situation, emphasizing that no player is above the club's financial structure. While he appreciates Laimer's work ethic, he reminded that the player is not Maradona and must adhere to the established salary limits.
Max Eberl added that negotiations are continuing in a professional manner and there is no conflict between the parties. The current task is to bridge the gap between the player's demands and the club's capabilities.
