AFC U-17 Asian Cup: Uzbekistan reaches playoffs and secures World Cup spot

The teams advancing from Group D at the AFC U-17 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia have been confirmed. The Uzbekistan U-17 national team secured their place in the playoffs with a convincing 3-0 victory over India.
The DPRK was originally scheduled to participate in this group, but after their withdrawal, Group D was left with Uzbekistan, Australia, and India. In the first round, Australia defeated India 4-0. Today, defending champions Uzbekistan also overcame the Indian side, scoring three goals.
In the 32nd minute, Laziz Abduraimov opened the scoring with a precise penalty kick. This goal gave our young players extra confidence and allowed them to control the game.
Uzbekistan maintained the pressure in the second half. In the 60th minute, Indian player Singh scored an own goal, making it 2-0. In the 78th minute, Ahror Ravshanbekov scored the third goal, sealing the match.
Thus, Uzbekistan and Australia have secured their spots in the playoffs from Group D. Most importantly, both teams have qualified for the U-17 World Cup in Qatar. This is a significant achievement and a major step forward for our young players.
Now, Uzbekistan and Australia will face each other in the 3rd round on May 13. This match will determine the group winner. Uzbekistan needs to defeat Australia to advance to the next stage in first place.
