Manchester United is preparing a surprise transfer bid for Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde. The Uruguayan's future in the Spanish capital is in doubt following a training ground altercation with Aurelien Tchouameni, according to Goal.com reports.
According to reports, the clash during training left Valverde hospitalized with a concussion. Although the player has publicly apologized, the Real Madrid hierarchy and the atmosphere within the squad have turned negative, with a summer exit now being considered.
Manchester United aims to capitalize on this situation to strengthen their midfield. With the club planning to part ways with Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte, Valverde is seen as a primary candidate to refresh the squad.
Valverde's contract with Real Madrid runs until 2029, and the club is not expected to let him go for less than £80 million. Nevertheless, a move to the Premier League could offer the Uruguayan a chance to revitalize his career.
